Does any heat come out at all on the passenger side? Have you tried the floor and vent?

There are 2 actuators, one of the drivers side and one on the passengers side. There is 1 vac line that runs to the HVAC control unit from the engine and the HVAC control has 4 lines that run to the actuators (2 per). These actuators control the doors on the evaporator case based on what setting the HVAC unit is set at. Could be that a vac line on the back of the HVAC unit is bad or that the vac line has came off of the actuator or is bad between the actuator and HVAC control unit.

Could also be that the plastic duct work that carries the heat from the evaporator case ot the vents has came lose - they just slide together for the most part, no snaps, screws, etc to hold them together.

"Does any heat come out at all on the passenger side?".... Not really..no!

"Have you tried the floor and vent?"..yes the heat changes from floor (drivers side) to all the dash vents.

Humm..."actuators"..Sounds Greek to me, but I will look inside the engine comparment to see if I can see the " HVAC control unit "!( is that where it is?

and I will Check the " plastic duct work "!

Thank your Sir!

Ron

so the passenger side vent works just not the floor? That is different than "NOT getting any heat on the passenger side".

the HVAC control until is the unit in the dash that you use to select vent/floor/mix/defrost as well as hot/cold.

let me try this---

-Defroster has heat coming out of all the vent holes.

-Dash vents (4) have heat coming out of all of them.

-Floor vents,(with the fan on, to make it easier to test) drivers side has heat coming out, But passinger side has no heat coming out!

Any ideas, Dan M?

Thanks,

Ron

I have a simular issue with my 2000 Dak. No air will come out through the floor vent. I have not had time to diagnose the issue. I will be following this thread, and will let you know what I find out. I am gonna back flush my heater core this weekend to fix the luke warm heat problem and start inspecting the dampers.

If it ain't broke, your not trying!
