You are supposed to wait about 30 days from the time it is painted because of the curing vapors and oils "leaching out". If you don't wait you will get what is called "old ladies leg(or @ss)" which is ripples in the paint.

If it ain't broke, fix it til it is.

Yup, you have to wait at least 30 days, especially if it is not in direct sunlight all the time. I have also found that, if you don't wait and just start waxing. Your paint will get a slight fog to its finish and not be as glossy.

Let us know more details about the paint job. My clear coat is starting to go, and the crappy primer is starting to show through the paint even. Just curios about your experience with a paint shop as mines gonna be at one pretty soon.

Oh and as for the wax, hold off for awhile. What happens is the the clear coat is still kinda gel like for ahwile. When your try to wax it, you rub that wax into soft clearcoat which makes it kinda foggy and leaves swirl marks like cracy. With yours being a dark color it would look really bad. Just to confirm though, ask the paint shop. They of all people should know how to take care of new paint.

Like most have said, wait at least 30 days before waxing or running it through a car wash because of the high pressure nozzles. The new paint and clear coat need time to cure. My truck got hit last winter right before christmas basically got a new front clip.
