Hey Tucson, i live in Sierra Vista, um bout 100 mi. south of you and i have to agree, its getting damn cold out there, i've almost got to scrape off the ice on my windshield before i leave for school when my first class is at 720 am. i hate the winter. so this means i am out starting my truck at 630am, still pitch black out there, to get it warmed up, and my truck is loud, i dont think my nighbors like no more.

School never shut down in Rexburg when I lived there 15 years ago. 45 below at night, with a high for about a week at -16.

But yeah, it gets COLD there.

Where I'm at now it's been single digits overnight, with highs in the mid 20s.

Hey I don't here from fellow cheeseheads very often. From North east WI myself, about an hour and a half from greenbay. heard they got about 8 inches last night and a 2 hour school delay. I'd love to be there, but joined the military and they sent me to South Carolina for a few years and in about a month and a half I'm headed for South Korea. But I'll be in WI for a week or two in mid-Jan, can't wait.

I just moved to the North West from Calif. with my 02 2WD CC with a 4.7 V8 and a limited slip rear end. I have driven in the Sierra Nevadas on ski trips in my old Toyota 4x4..no big deal..but an ice storm is pedicted for tommorrow. My question to all you cold weather veterns is when do you decide that it,s too bad to drive? There was ice on the roads last week but I just drove through it. I have to think the limited slip diff. helped some. I have since bought cables for the rear tires and I have 80lbs of garden gravel in bags I can throw in the back. I'm thinking that going slow should get me to work if I have to or if there is an emergency. My wife has an high tech awd but I'm not going to take that and strand her and my 8 Y/O in case something happens.

We never stop driving up here in Canada. It's obvious that sometimes we should. But I just put a ton of sand bags in the back and head out slowly.
