the frame on my dakota is getting a little to rusty from the last owners saltwater adventures. i want to paint it black again. what do you think is the best way and best paint to use.

i would sand off the rust and repaint with spray paint. use flat black

and some mods to slow it down!

If it's not too bad, you could probably spray it with Rustoleum...supposed to be good at stopping and preventing rust.

I have sprayed my entire undercarriage with LPS-3. Its an industrial rust inhibitor that sprays on and dries to a waxy film. We use it on all of our parts at my work (machine shop). Works great for protection.

I would clean it up and spray with duplicolor aresol bed coating............but thats just me.

They had a brush on and spray on black paint made just for that. I saw it on trucks but I can't remember the name. Did anyone else see that and remember what it was called?

i bought my truck from up north and they have a thing called winterizing. they spay the frame and other parts using basically a spray in bed liner is what it looks like to me
