 Subject: Front Brake Noise

This one is on the passenger side ! It is not a grind or a rattle or a sqeal. IT SOUNDS LIKE A CRICKET OR FROG Sitting on my brakepad! I can hear it with my windows down , also I can hear it when I have the brakes not applied and when I have the brakes applied! Any ideas what this might be?

how many miles on your rig?
the pads my be worn to the metal.
i would take off the front right tire and take a look. it could just be worn or maybe there is something trapped in between the brake and the rotor.
and some mods to slow it down!

I am convinced it is a brake prob.
When Im rolling slow listening out the pass. window I can hear it .cricket....cricket....cricket LOL its probably not that seriuos..
By the way my Pads Are perfect . Just did them .

Have you driven in wet conditions and if so, does the noise seem to quiet or stop altogether when you are driving in wet conditions?
I had the same problem. It did seem to happen less frequently when I had the pads and rotors replaced, but it still came back. I never did figure it out. Neither could the service dept at the dealer.

Geez guy. Here's what.
Get the front end off the ground so you can remove the wheels.
Before removing the wheels, turn each by hand to see if it makes the noise, so you'll know which side to work on.
Remove the wheel.
Check the inboard side of the wheel for rocks, dirt, tree branches, dead critters. Anything that could be stuck to the wheel and hitting or rubbing on the brake caliper.
Check the brake rotors to see if you got anything stuck in them that could be hitting the calipers when the rotor turns.
Check the calipers to see if there's anything ... (you gettin' this yet?).
Turn the turnable parts by hand and listen for noise while it's turning. With that wheel out of the way, if you hear the noise, you should be able to isolate the source.
Might just be a wheel bearing.
This is all common sense type stuff here. No mystic science involved.

i agree that sounds like a wheel bearing cause stuff that gets stuck in the brakes doesn't stay there long.
i think your wheel bearing is in need of some wheel bearing grease or a replacing. take off that wheel and get a good look. it could be bad brake pads. the pads could have worn faster or wrong because the rotor is warp or the caliper is mess up.
inform us of the problem when you fix it.
and some mods to slow it down!

Well I think it's in the brake > Wasn't there prior to new pads > Was pads all you replaced > Did you put the spacers behind them and did you put the recomended lub on them > Did you check your rotors for run out > Thinking you may have slite wabble in rotor pushing the pads back and forth > Lub the caliper pins LIGHTLY > It's there some where > Ya run out of options trying to fix then is the time to look for people smarter then me > So many problems > So little time > Good luck

yeah mine does that too. right after i got new pads and rotors. since then i have lubed everything but the caliper pins (i forgot to). Still does it. I have tried everything and i dont think its a wheel bearing because it does it on both sides and only after the new pads and rotors.

Ya Me Too ! Just got it fixed! No more NOISE! Just took it back to the shop who last installed it. Dont really no what they did but it fixed.They said some thing to do with the brake pad seating . Thx for all your Help !
