I have had this happen 3 or 4 times now.
I'm driving down the road and all of my "Idiot lights"(fuel low, washer low, all the lights) will flash and the "Ding" will sound for no real reason...
Has anyone had this problem?
Does anyone know what causes it?

Central Timer Module maybe, depending on year and model.

01 SLT 2WD happened last winter. Along with what you described, I also had the box disappear from around the gear selector, the odo went into trip mode and my turn signals stopped working. At first I thought it had something to do with me doing donuts in the snow with a locker. I thought maybe the sensor on the ring gear (forget the name) was confusing the brain.

What I think resolved the problem: Down by your left foot is a giant connector with a 10mm (?) bolt on it. I tightened this and it seemed to cure it. Hasn't done it since but it's starting to get cold again so you never know.

Question for you. Do you have the Infinity sound system?

No I don't have the infinty sound system..
Mine is an 03 QC 4x4 Manual Sport Plus...
I'm just hoping this isn't going to end up being some expensive computer module or somthing...
its hasn't affected the performance or operation of the truck but I'm afraid it migght eventually?!?!

Granted, the first time it happened was a little disconcerting but it didn't cause a breakdown and it went away after I tightened that bolt on the connector. Maybe it's completely unrelated. Maybe it's because it was colder than a witches tit that day.

The reason I asked about the Infinity system is because I know one other guy, a coworker of mine, and the only real commonality we have is the Infinity system. Mine died this past summer and after I accidentally applied 12 volts to the PCI line (lilac wire on the radio connector), it caused the same fault.

Wierd, eh Harold?

yeah mine did something similar twice. a couple months after I bought it i was driving along and for some reason the voltage meter slowy rose to 18 volts and the check gauges light and bell came on and so i pulled over and shut it off. when i restarted it i continued to work and it was fine. did it to me twice on two different days on the same road in the same place. kinda weird coincidence. that was two years ago, and since then it never happend again and i never touched anything with the electrical system.
