A flowmaster 40 series will sound really raspy on a 3.9, a guy in my neighborhood has a flowmaster 40series on his 3.9 and it sounds like crap... (sounds like a ford ranger with glass packs)

I had a Delta Flow Flowmaster 40 SI/DO on my v6 4.0 Ranger and it sounded great.

I wouldnt get the normal 40, get the delta flow version and it'll solve the resonation that you'd normally get with a straight 40.

Will a Flowmaster 50 Delta Flow get rid of the rice sound the 40 makes? I know it will quiet my truck down (I have the 40 now) but I'm willing to sacrifice volume for tone.

like DD said, the delta flow versions fix the ricey sound of a flowmaster on a v6. i have the 40 series delta flow single 3"in/dual 2.5" out. sounds great and has been confused quite a bit with a v8.

GET IN, SIT DOWN, SHUTUP, AND HOLD ON
custom 48mm tb, tps @ .768, relocated IAT, 180 t-stat, autolite double platinum, taylor wires, flowmaster 40 delta flow single in/dual out, CAI
