Go to a car lot and pick up a 4wd Dakota...while leaving yours there along with a nice down payment.

Its not worth the time, reliability and money to convert a 2wd to a
4wd.... just buy a 4x4, and trade in ur 2wd

Like everyone else said, buy a 4 wheel drive truck. I have personal experience with this with a 77 Ford Custom(f-150), it was a frankenford by the time my dad and I were done with it, but there is ALOT more to the conversion than most people think.

If it ain't broke, fix it til it is.

i think its all been said already

even a solid axle 4x4 would be a pain in the a$$
if you do it put in a solid axle, not the standard dakota setup
