Justin, if you're asking would it be like
installing it, hooking up a few wires and turning
the key, NO WAY!

Now if you want to spend a LOT of time cutten,
welding, wiring, computer swapping and a ton of
other stuff to do the job right, it's do able
but won't come cheap.

yes it will and it will cost $4000-$6000 but that is money well spent. i think a dak with the hemi would be turning 14.2s

It will not fit. There are suspension and frame issues. If it would have fit, it would be in the 05 dakota.

You can fit anything in a dak if you want to spend the time and effort. I mean hell, they put a cummins diesel with a NV manual tranny in one...they had to cut into the fire wall, AND the floor pan, but it eventually fit:)

If it ain't broke, fix it til it is.

cuzindoug, There is a BIG difference in cutting the floorpan and firewall and messing with the frame. Straight form dodge itself....
Considering that just about every horse in the Chrysler stable has been gifted with a Hemi engine option—the Magnum wagon, the 300 sedan, the Ram pickup, the Durango sport-ute, and the new Jeep Grand Cherokee—we asked David McDonald, Dakota program manager, if the Dakota were to be so blessed.

He tells us the Hemi's width would necessitate changes to the frame and upper-control-arm mounting points, resulting in additional development that wouldn't be cost-effective. Too bad, because we expected that Chrysler's magic motor would fit in the big engine bay.
