Amen to that i know it came in handy for my wife's truck a few times

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides with the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who in the name of charity and good will shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon those with great vengeance and with furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know that my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee

Jeff, i agree w/ you.
I had the 7 years or 75 k miles service contractors warranty and if wasn`t for that i`d be in a dip prob.
My truck had 2 complete sets of left and right, upper and lower b joints w/ control arms, another set of left and right b joints only, and i more set of upper b. joints (just after the recall and before the dealers were able to replace it, but this time w/ Moog ones, and they reimbursed me).
I had to replace AC compressor and belt at 40k and at 74k had replaced the 3.92 lsd dif.,and got a brand new NV 3500 gear box, after unsucsessful atempt to end the noise on it.
The truck now has 113k and ever since works perfect.
If chooseing a dodge, don`t skeep the xtra warranty.
Of every 100 vehicles made, 90 are normal, 5 excellent and 5 will be lemon. Just my view.

ok Jeff, maybe you didn't mean to offend but you did...

my power steering hoses kept needing replacement because they consistently cracked in the cold weather...sorry but I cannot alter the climate.

I am aware that the batteries have warranties, most of the parts on my truck are under warranty now.

And no, about my headlights, I didn't just leave it at that as you say. I took it several other places as well as dodge, it was always "we can't find the problem, you can bring it back or leave it here.." etc. I don't own a truck so I can park it at a shop forever, I needed to use it.

I don't appreciate the insinuation that I didn't look for a "logical" resolution to the cause of the problems I was having, or that I simply wasn't standing up for myself. I did both...for years. But I think it is also important to wonder why it continually has to be a fight with dodge to get anything done properly.

You're going to have to do a little fighting with every manufacturer now and again.

I was trying to get service that is covered under the extended warranty on my wife's 2001 Pontiac Grand Am. Guess what? I had to call the dealer in NC (I live in GA) to get the full details of the warranty. Seems that sort of Information is not kept in their systems. Also, When I called the dealer we bought the car from, their "warranty person" was out of the office, they wanted to know if I could wait a day until they were back in. WTF is that? You know, this was about a month ago. I spoke to the manager on duty at the time and stressed the need / importance for this information. I was promised a return phone call. Guess what? I still have yet to receive that phone call. When I got off work, I went home and found our warranty paperwork.

Don't forget the lemon law. Why did you not (if you have not) raise a fuss about the hoses every winter? The dealer should have records of the work. Even Dodge does cold weather testing. If you have the same problem this winter, demand a new truck under the lemon law. See what they say.

I understand. The Dodge dealers sure like to find ways to not qualify a repair under warranty. And I am not coming to their defense, but in this age of American cars vs foreign imports, I'd like to say the foreign model dealers can be just as difficult. My wife's Toyota Highlander has had trans problems and we're still batlling that.

Sorry you had problems. Its a black eye for Dodge and they don't even know it. I support Dodge and the other car manufacturers as much as I can because when you buy American, an American works (don't give me that crap about the Honda and Toyota assembly plants in the US, they employ FAR FAR less Americans than Ford, GM and Chrysler).

Don't even mention foreign dealers to me. Got one nissan dealer (Team Nissan in Marietta GA) that won't stop calling me. They think my phone number is someone else.

harassment suit pending - have requested 8 times in 1 day they remove my number from their records. If nothing, they are persistant!!
