Subject: Rusty Bumper on '97 Dakota

Message:
I have a 1997 Dakota and the paint began to bubble on my bumper within the first year I owned it. The first dealer told me it was rocks from the road (special rocks that only affect bumpers I guess). The second dealer said the warranty only covered rust perforations.

It is now 4 years later and my bumper looks HORRIBLE and makes my truck look like trash. I contacted the Dodge customer service recently and they opened a file. The dealer called me back today and said the district manager reviewed it and they will not repair it (they did not even look at my truck). Needless to say I am somewhat upset that Dodge is giving me on a $25K truck.

Has anyone sucessfully had their bumper replaced (mine is far beyond sanding/grinding to repaint). Has anyone gone through the arbitration process for this problem? Please e-mail with any info that may be useful. Perhaps if enough people come forward with this problem Dodge will not ignore it? Here are some pics just to show how bad it is:

Ya on my 97 I'm on my third bumper all replaced under warranty (my truck is still under extened).
With yours you have to bring it to a body shop and get it sand blasted and painted. Warranty does not cover stone chips but mine was blistering thats why they covered it. I know its a fine line between blistering and stone chip but from DCs stand point how many guys abuse there paint on there trucks not that you do but I personally know alot that do.
