Subject: Noise in left door
IP: Logged

Message:
Yesterday, a weird noise started in my passenger door. When the
doors lock automatically, or when i lock the truck and the lock
goes down, a strange noise, a kind of buzzing noise is made. It
only happens on the lock mechanism, rather than unlock. Could
this be the actuater going out???

You need a new lock solenoid. It is bad.

That really depends on how savy you are. It's not a difficult job. It involves removing the door panel to gain access the latch assembly (the part that kees your door closed) Sometimes the latches can be a little bit of a PITA but if you can use a few hand tools without damaging yourself or the car, you should be fine. As for price, I can't remember off hand. I'm thinking around 45-50 bucks, but I'm not sure.
