OK I've owned my 97 5.2 CC 4X4 for 3 years now and am finally gettin around to some mods. Already have Gibson cat back, K&N FIPK2 w/Drycharger, Edelbrock IAS 4 corners and Powerslot/Hawk front brakes. I have learned alot from this crowd being a silent post searcher but need some actual input now. Tires that will fit a non-lifted truck seems to be a truck by truck situation (besides alot of personal preferance). Came across a few old posts and I would really like to know if 32x11.5x15 would really fit my front end with NO changes (trimming/t-bar/lift) or am I better off sticking with the 31's I have now?

Everything I have read says the 32's will fit, only a few people experience slight rubbing at full lock. I am going with 32's on my next tire change. I am going with 32X10.50's(265/75/16) to make sure there is no rubbing at all.

Cool name...I love my 5.56, it doesn't get much use out here in the Kalifornia though.

R16 not an option for me unless I buy rims (15x8.5 stock) and there is so little out there for a 6x4.5 lug pattern. I'd like to go black and will be contacting a local Keystone factory as to how much it would cost to have a set of stock rims stripped anodized and sealed.

I think black wheels look sweet too. I have seen 32X9.50's in R15, but I don't know if you want to go that narrow...you may be able to go with the 32X11.50's and maybe put wheel spacers to push them out a bit so they don't rub. Who know's you may get lucky and not rub at all. Good luck.

566,

I have the same truck as you. I have made no modifications to the stance and I have a little rub with my 265/70 R16 which is a 31"x10.5 esentially.
I also think my front sags a little. I plan on cranking the torsion bars a little.

For 31's on a 15, you need to get either the 31x10.5, or a 265/75 R15. If you want the 32" you would need 265/80 R15.

8banger makes a good point. Pay attention to width. If you are in the mud alot, wider usually helps. If you are mostly on road, and in the snow, the narrow tires will get you better traction on snow, and will reduce your rolling resistance on dry pavement.

Thanks guys. Measured (Looked at real close) the clearance around my 31x10.5's and its @1-1 1/4" at both locks between tire and frame and tire and front/rear fender skirts. I currently have no tire rubbing but a rear end chatter from full posi rear so I'm already real carefull when it comes to at lock steering. I probably do more snow driving than mud here in NY. Mud only comes from hunting/fishing/camping. Pro Comp Mud terains look like a middle road between BFG AT's and MT's on tread design and there 32" post a lower overall tire hight than BFG 32". Could be my out. Thanks again.
