Well guys I have been reading on this forum ever since I got my dodge. (about 6 months) I really like what youve got here its a good site with a wealth of information. I got my truck back in February and its a 2001 Dakota Club Cab 4x4. I really like except I regret not getting a v8. It only has a v6 because they didnt have any 8's around town. I was in too much of a hurry to wait. But I have run into a wide range of problems that I thought I would share with you. First off, the big one. I had about 4000 miles on my truck and every once in awhile my gears would just jump out of place. (by the way its the 5 speed) I thought there was something wrong with the syncros but wasnt sure. Then one day I was out 4 wheeling and it kept on doing it a number of times. This started to worry me a bit. So on the way home I was on a very long dirt road (washboard the whole way) and my gears were still acting funny. When finally I was shifting into second and it wouldnt go. I came to a stop and tried to shift into all or any gear, but none would work. I played with it for a bit but didnt get anywhere. Eventually some guys came in another truck and pulled me to the nearest payphone where I had the truck towed. The next day it was at the dealer and he gave me plenty of shi* about it but said they would replace the tranny under warranty. And then 3 WEEKS later I got my truck back good as new. This is just one of about 5 problems I have had so far. Just thought I would introduce myself though.
