ok, so I just bought by first truck. A beautiful '97 Dak Sport 4x4 with a 3.9. I love the truck, but I have nowhere to put my tasty drinks while I'm driving. I don't want to slap on some universal piece(unless it looks really nice). I have these black sort of trays in the console(where you shift into 4-wheel-drive)that arent much use except to hold my cell phone. Is there a cupholder out there that will fit in one of these spots? I am at a loss. I know that sooner or later, the Starbucks is gonna spill on my lap.

you should have a pull out tray located on the face side of the center seat just by your knees when you are sitting on it.

Let the coffee spill and burn your lap. Sue Starbucks (or McDonald's which seems eaiser), take the money and buy a newer Dak with cup holders. Your nads may be burnt but you'll have a brand new shiny truck!

Go to a junk yard and find the cup holder in the face of the middle console. I had to pay 15 for mine but it's worth not having soda all over my truck.

Ok I've got the same truck. 97, 3.9, 5 speed, 4X4. I've had the thing for 7 years now (and love it)and i've been trying to fix this same cup holder delema since i bought the thing. As luck would have it i just found out last week that i can get once of these pull out cup holders. Still havnt found one but i still cant believe i've had the truck for this long and never noticed where the pull out tray should be(sigh).
Anyway just thought id put in my 2 cents.

I got lucky I dropped something and somehow managed to get into the hole, so I had my face down there looking for it to realize there was something missing.

I bought my truck used in 98 so it wasnt an option i knew about...but really....why would Dodge even offer the truck without the slide out cupholders standard? The ones on my shifter consoul are worthless.

I'd never think you could buy something that new without a cup holder!
My '03 4X4 has THREE of them up front. Go figure!
