Hi,
I have a 2001 Dodge dakota Quad cab. Several months ago my radio controls on the steering wheel stopped working. Now the cruise control has also stopped working. There has been a problem with the signal lights not working on two occasions. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks for the help.
Belinda

Thanks for the info. I will research the ignition swith thing some more. I never thought of anything like the ignition switch being able to cause the problem. If not that then it has to be something happening to the wires in that column somehow.
Thanks again,
Belinda

Just had the upper plastic trim off from the steering column while I was tracking down some steering wheel noises. Noticed the main connector (up on top of all that mess, and just left of the hazard flasher button) was not securely latched and was starting to disconnect itself.
Might wanna give yours a look.
Takes a T20 or T25 (I can't remember) torx.

Thanks for the info. I had a friend take the cover off today and he couldnt find anything out of place. I made an appointment to get it worked on at the dealership next week. I will post whatever I find out. Maybe someone else can benefit from it.
I wonder if anyone else has had this problem. Thanks everyone.

Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you. Try your horn, if it's not working it definitely might be your clockspring. Mine did go bad and the cruise and horn would not work. I don't have the wheel radio controls though.
