HATE TO WASTE YOUR TIME BUT JUST GOT A 98 PRETTY MUCH BARE BONES SPORT, AND CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHY THERE ARE TWO DETENTS TO KEEP THE DOME LIGHT ON. IS IT POSSIBLE THE SECOND DETENT WAS FOR A CARGO LAMP? USED= NO OWNERS MANUAL. THANKS FOR THE HELP

yes, that is for a cargo light if your truck is equipped. The switch is a Dodge standard, it is used in many Dodge and Plymouth vehicles.

thanks bigdave, i had removed an aftermarket alarm from the truck, (was a rats nest) and thought i had missed something that was still wired in. you can tell this is my first mopar and i do like it's power, but it does like the unleaded. the only thing the alarm might of been for was the stereo, also aftermarket, otherwise no factory goodies

actually, the switch is to lower, then disable the interior lights (dash, overhead) when the vehicle is running. (as in opening the door without the cab light turning on)

Never was a cargo light in a '98 that I knew of.

Recommendation: Pick yourself up a book from the Auto Parts store about the truck. Well worth the money.
