Subject: Question about lift/tires!
IP: Logged

Message:
Hi all,
I am new to this site and have a 2003 Dakota with the Stampede package and a 4.7L V-8. I bought the truck new and have got 52,000 miles out of the factory Goodyear Eagle tires. It's time for some new tires and I would like to lift the truck as well. I thought with a 3 or 4 inch suspension lift I could fit 31” or 33" tires easily. Who makes a good lift for this year Dakota? Does the Stampede suspension effect anything concerning the lift? Do I have to extend the driveshaft towards the rear axle if I lift it? Has anyone had any long term luck with a lift? I live in Lakeland Florida, does anyone know a good retailer/installer? I drive a good bit of highway miles and am not looking for an extremely aggressive off-road setup. I appreciate any suggestions in this manner. Thank you.

Is that a 2wheel drive? My 4x4 came stock with 31x10.5R15 tires and I'm pretty sure that's what the ones with 16" rims have too but show in metric. 33"s look tough on a Dakota. Sorry, I don't have info on lifts for ya.

The truck is a 2 wheel drive. It actually sits a little lower than the rgular 2WD because of the Stampede package.

Pictures of the truck are on the following webpage:

Thanks in advance.
