I'm looking for help from any owners of Dakota Convertibles. I had an highly unfortunate event, which means that I am now the owner of a very badly bent (totalled) Dak Convertible. I'm waiting on my insurance to give me a price for it, but if anyone were to have information about the value, possibly an appraisal...I would really appreciate the information. Here is the details on my truck
1989 Dakota Convertible, SB, Red, mag wheels, spray in bedliner, body in great shape, new top installed last year, flawless interior, no rust, 212 000 km.

Go to NADA.com look it up from there.Has it ever had body damage before like other accidents or been repainted, anything like that.
It also asks for miles not km.
If it is a 4x4 then and it has a clean title history the it is worth about $3600 average retail.Low retail it about $2700.
Now if it is NOT a 4x4 then take about $600 off.

The problem you have here is that the insurance company is going to pay fair market *blue book* value for the vehicle. Considering all the mods to it such as the convertable top since it is not a option from the dealer. The insurance company dont care about that kind of stuff unless. You had a special clause in your insurance for aftermarket mods. That would increase the value of it.
So the best guess at a estimate would be to just look it up . kbb.com
and enter all the information it asks for.
