So BOTH my front calipers are stuck on. I would say siezed but there not. I was on the highway and put the cruise on and it would not hold speed. I pulled over to check it out and found an extremely hard brake pedal and BOTH front rotors were smoking hot!! I don't understand how both would go at the same time. I'm replacing both flex lines on the front. Dealer says they've "collapsed". Maybe so but both at once?? What the hell. After it sat for a while the pedal feell went back to normal but i could tell it was getting harder and harder with every stop. I just hope i don't have to do two calipers as well, not to mention my 3 month old brakes are probably smoked. any ideas what may have happened??? Bad fluid???

I had a master cylinder do that very thing on a Ford F350 Turbo Diesel.

I used the brakes one time. Went to leave and thought I had the e-brake on!

The truck would BARELY move even with all the ppower.

I stomped the brakes hard a few times over and over and it finally released. Had to replace the master cylinder.

On another case. My friends 1973 Duster, when he first got it somewhere back in 1988 or so, we were crusing in Payson when one of the front brakes locked solid. We had to pull over and bleed the line to get it to release. Nxt time he hit the brakes. It locked again!

That time it was the proportioning valve.

Somehow, my drivers side caliper got stuck when I shipped my truck from Atlanta to Germany. I drove it about 40 miles with the brake dragging. When I got home, I just removed it & hit it with a hammer a few times. It had spent 2 months on a boat to get here, & once I freed it, it has yet to do it again.

Well i hope to hell its not the master. I'm sure that's going to be much more expensive then the lines. At least i know the guys at the dealership and i get most of my parts for their cost. Parts are supposed to be in today. They backordered them on me cuz they were supposed to be in on tuesday..... i HATE driving my wifes precidia!!!! I drive a 2000 BTW. only 80 kms i think that's around 50 miles.

Well got her back and no probs yet. I'm goiing to hit the expressway and get'em good and hot before i say their fixed. Cost me 155. Not bad. Got the lines for 40 bucks each. Full cost was almost 80 each. Buddy only booked in for a half hour so that was only 42.50, but then the DAMN tax, 15%. SO far so good......
