 Subject: Gen II vs Gen III....?

Being a fairly new Dak owner, I don't know all the lingo.

When do Gen I Daks begin? thru 1990?
When do Gen II Daks live? 1991 - 1996?
When do Gen III Daks live? 1997 - current?

I'm guessing on model years as the difference. I did a little research to guess the years. When were Daks first made? Are my assumptions correct?
