04SilvSXT, is it that ugly that the pictures
can't even be developed?

If it looks anything like the 05's, don't bother
to correct your thread. Not worth it.

From what I've seen it looks just fine. Fugliness is in the eye of the beholder I guess.

Does it have the Hemi? I heard two different rumors. One said 250hp H.O.4.7L, the other said 345HP Hemi.

It's a 250hp H.O. 4.7L. They would have to price is exceptionally higher if it had a Hemi. Due to it having an effect on the Ram sales. Why get a Ram when the new R/T has it and is cheaper. If they did price it higher. No one would buy the R/T due to the Ram being cheaper with the same engine. I believe the rumors of the SRT dakota, but it'll have a hefty tag on it.

B.S!

Now just how would it have a affect on the ram sales? There sales are are about half of Chevy,So why not put a hemi under the hood. Worked for the pervious R/T with a 360.

It would affect Ram sales due to it being the only pickup from Dodge to have the Hemi. By not putting that engine into the new R/T they force people to buy Rams. (Mostly for that simple fact "HEMI") If they offered it in the new R/T with the tag being lowered. More people would go with the R/T. Why get a pickup thats heavier, slower, and more money? The R/T would be a hot ticket if they put the Hemi in, but will lose sales for the RAM.

Looks exactly like the SLT w/Sport Appearance Package, 17" wheel package, & chrome exhaust tip, that I picked up yesterday; except for the hood scoop, body-colored grill and the R/T decal which you can have made at any flea market. If it had a Hemi it might hang with my 4.7 MANual.
Three different Hemi Rams got beat by my stock '02 and of course a stock 360 R/T w/chickstick is no competition.

The more and more I see these ugly things the more they're starting to stick on me. The only thing I really don't like about the RT now is the wheels. Body still not stickin with me yet but I'll give it time.

I dont mind the truck, but why has dodge opted for such a low slung exhaust pipe (tip) lately...I took mine off a week after I bought it...it looks like a hanger broke to me.

ok.

I have seen the new R/T dakota in person. The hood scoop is fake, its one of those stick on hood scoops like the Ram rumble bee. As far as I saw there is no hemi. The engine will be the 4.7L H.O. and be offered with either a 6 speed manual or a 5 speed auto. The interior is dressed up a little, but nothing special. The rims are regular 17" chrome clad from the laramie package. Other than the R/T decals and the chrome tip exhaust it is a regular sport dakota with a body colored grille.

I highly doubt the R/T would actually affect sales of the Ram that much if they put the Hemi in it. The Dakota is still a mid sized truck and a lot of people would rather have the full size no matter the weight difference. The Dakotas would have to contend with the full size comfort and the lack of 4WD. The only ppl who might stray are the ones with a 2wd Ram. Plus putting the Hemi in the Dakota is gonna help with other ppl straying from the competition to get the only midsized Hemi Powerd pick up. Just my opinio though.
