Has anyone heard of any redesigns for the 06 Dakota or is Dodge stuck on this pug faced appearance? I had a 93(CC,LE,V-6) Dak for 11 years and I purchased an 04 Dak (CC, sport plus,V-8)last year. Now I want to trade over to a Crew Cab but I'm so distraught with the new look that I can't do it! As a loyal devotee to Gen I and Gen II, I actually feel a sinking feeling when I think of slipping behind the wheel of a slower, bulkier 05 and imagine back to
the 04 Sport Plus I sacrificed for two more doors!

I feel your pain too, but there is no redos on the 06. It is too fresh, but i`m seeing more of these ugly Daks around now. I`ve got a 2000 that will be my toy for life. I may and will buy other trucks, but keeping this one.
When i need to redo the engine, it will be rebuilt to make at least 400 hp. At that time, it will not have my tool box or the rack to carry my roofing business.

sorry, i jsut like being a dick :-P moreso when people froget about the 87-90 gen1 daks, im partial to them becuase i have one im building :)

Ok,..you got me there, Super Bee!
As I mentioned, I had a 93 for 11 years.
At 200,000 the engine was getting tired
but the A/C was original and running cold.
The body was rust free!
I've had my 2004 CC Sport plus V-8 for just over a year and I love the truck!
Need more space now though and may have to
negotiate a 2005 quad Ram 1500 HEMI since Dodge
went and defaced the Dakota line!

I don't like the looks of the new Dakota, but I just bought one! Love the 6-speed MANual! My '02 had 120k on it and needed a new clutch. With over $5500 in discounts now I actually financed less than sticker even with $4500 in negative equity.

The ugliest thing I find about the 2005 Dakota is the interior. I would have bought one a few months ago, but I just can't stand to look at that nasty beige/grey cheap-a$$ed plastic. I love the interior of my 02!

No amp or oil guages on the GenIV either. No more Daks under 4000 pounds, thus mpg and performance suffers. Jay Leno is flattered by the front end. Great crash numbers, however.

I like the new Dak. I'm considering trading my 01. I'll buy another Dak before I buy a Toy or a Nissan.
