I have enough AMSOIL to do the rear diff. but not for the front, I was going to use Mobil 1 to top off the front diff. I was wondering if mixing the two would create any problems.

Your front and rear diffs have seperate oiling sumps so you would not be mixing them in the same sump. All modern lubricants are designed to be compatible with other brands in same catagory and class. It is always safer to not mix brands in any one sump. The reason is two fold. First you have no way of knowing if their are any compatability issues and second is warranty issues. If a lubricant fails the oil refinery will pay for repairs. If it is a mix of different brands they will usualy deline your claim. All of the samples get tested as do the parts that failed. So it would be perfectly fine to put one brand in one diff. and another brand in the other diff. It would be a bad idea to mix the amsoil and the mobile one together and put this mix in the diff.'s. It is also ok to switch brands as often as you want to. I have one old truck that gets all the left overs from my other vechiles. In the past I always had synthetic left over from my other vechiles so the beater got a mix of left over synthetic and what ever else was on hand(non-synthetic)most times the five quarts were of different weights. This truck is still running great and has never had a problem inspite of this. Know that I own a vechile that actualy uses all 6 quarts of a case of synthetic i will have to start buying oil just for this old truck again.
