Subject: Front wheel bearing problem
IP: Logged

Message:
I have a 1990 Dakota 2 wheel drive. The front passenger outside bearing went bad and was chewed up pretty good. I pulled off the brake caliper, axle cap, cotter pin, and the bolt/washer to hold the bearing on. I am having a terrible time getting the outside bearing to come off. I have been pounding the rotor from the backside with a maul and a block of wood to protect the rotor. Does anyone have any "tricks of the trade" to try to brake the bearing free from the axle?
