When I turn on my AC I get this whining sound from the engine? When the AC is off the engine sounds great. Is this normal? Have any of you guys have the same problem? It's a 2000 CC 4X4, 4.7 5-speed if this helps.

I have a 2000 4x4 4.7L also. I took mine into the dealer because of that A/C whine. They told me it is normal. I heard that the durangos do it as well. The whine is a trate of the new 4.7L

It sounds like the engine is under alot of stress. But if this is normal, I guess we have to live with it.
P.S. My Dak is also Intense Blue,

Are you guys aware of the cooling fan that engages when the AC is activated or are you positive it's another thing?

It doesn't sound normal, I wouldn't think a fan engaging would sound like this.
