When I bought my '01 4x4 SLT someone was in the dealership asking about one for a 99 Dak. The service manager took a look at the truck and told the owner they wouldn't think of attempting the install because of the fact the techs would have to tear the roof liner out to cut for mounting the console and wiring it would be difficult, if not impossible.
The guy wanted the "electronic console" and had a Dak with no console in it.
The price wasn't ridiculous but from the sounds of it the install would be a complete nightmare.

I installed one in my 99 DAk. The wire harness I got from a junk truck. You also will have to get the 2 console lights along with the trip computer because they have a diffrent connector clip. Trust me, it was a pain in the a@@ to do. I didnt have to cut ANYTHING to install it. The mounts are allready there.

I recently purchased a 2003 quad cab. It’s fully loaded but didn’t come with the elusive overhead computer. After reading most of the postings. I was able to obtain an overhead computer on Ebay. I’m interested in hardwiring the overhead computer. The only option in the computer that I am interested in is the compass and outside temperature sensor. The computer I have has four wires attached to it. I know that one wire is the constant power, the second is ground and the third is the ignition power. I’m not sure what the forth is I’m assuming it the Outside temp reading. I got the compass to work but cant figure out how to get the outside temp to work. My truck came with a senor for outside temp. The senor has two wire going into it. How can I hardwire my over head computer so that my outside temp works. Also does anybody know what PCI bus stands for, and were can I find it in my truck. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
