Subject: Rear End Leak?
IP: Logged

Message:
Hey guys, I think my dakota has a rear end fluid leak, because the back side of the rear end has what looks like an oil slick around the rubber plug on the rear end. Should i be concerned or is my plug just bad?

Those cheap plastic plugs doo tend to leak a little bit over time. You can try sealing it with silicone, but that just seems to slow it down a little. You can buy a new one, but then you're right back where you started.

Go down to the hardware store and look in the plumbing section. You'll find some rubber expansion plugs in various sizes. Some have a quicke release handle, and some don't. Find one the right size and install it. It will never leak again.
