hey i need some advice. first i treat my car awsome, always clean always looking good. it rained hard down here in baton rouge for about 2 days, during that time some yellow stuff caked itself to my truck. i went to go clean the truck with McGuires quickwax and it felt like i was rubbing on sandpaper. so i went to a car wash and washed the truck myself, the shyt is still there and i cant get it off for nething. its caked all along the side of my truck on both sides, its not incredibly noticable until you get close but its still bothering me...sorry for the long post but any ideas and advice might be helpful. thanks for your time

man, no telling what that crap is with all those plants you guys have in the big stick there. have you tried a polishing compound, not rubbing compound.

i've also heard that there is some 5k grit & 10k grit polishing/sanding compound on the market somewhere. that would be a last resort.

what color truck do you have?

Sounds like line tape off the road.

Mineral spirits will take it off. Anything that removes road tar will take car of that.

ya'all can buy mineral spirits at almost anyplace that sells house paint. It is used to thin out interior and exterior grade enamal and oil based paint. usually for about 2 bucks a gallon, and the left over unused stuff can be dumped, in small amounts into your gas tank as a fuel injector cleaner, actually in a lot of cases, you are paying 2 bucks for a 12 ounce container of mineral spirits labeled carb and fuel injector cleaner. And it does no harm to laquer paints, like watcha got on yer truck.

This sounds like the same thing that happened to my white Dakotea - a couple months after I bought it, I noticed yellow specks on the sides and in the wheel wells. I figured it was line paint from the road. I found that water softened it up enough to scrape off with a thumbnail. Fir the heavier stuff, i used Goof-Off.
Good Luck!
