Message:
At a time when gas prices are hitting everyone hard in Washington State and across the nation for that matter, our state politicians in their infinite wisdom decide we are not paying high enough gas tax. They increased our gas tax another 9.5 cents a gallon. This increase was passed during a weekend vote without any news coverage or any one at the capital in Olympia Washington. If you live Washington State you know what I mean: go to the following web site and check it:

That's all well and good, if the monies collected actually went to improve the roads. Most of the money collected in gas taxes where I live goes into a general fund and gets redistributed and goes to pay for political favors and socialist programs.

That's just another great down fall of socialist thinking. I'm willing to pay my fair share to keep our roads in good shape but when the government steals money from me for one thing and uses it for another...revolutions start that way.

PS...You're not my uncle, just another jerk with his hand in my pocket

I take it the last one there's a canadian. Move on up here boys, then you'lll really see waht it's like to take it in the ass by your government.
Income Tax (dependeing on income)Me: 30%
Provincial sales tax(everything you buy): 8%
Federal sales tax GST(goods and services tax which when intoruced was supposed to be temporary to pay down our deficit but is still here 15 years later: 7%
Not to mention property tax, gas tax, 34 damn dollars for a case of beer that's only sold by the government(probably 20-30% tax if not more) over 9$ for a pack of smokes(probably50% tax) All this crap is AFTER income tax dollars. But hey, free health care that every Canadian is entitled to regardless of wether they work or not, and damn welfare for lazy SOB's that don't want to work as well as a thousand other government friggin subsidies that every ass likes to mooch from. Feeling the love?? THe working man really gets the shaft up here.
And, 95 cent per litre up here(not sure how many litres are in a US gallon.

But we all keep buying it, don't we?

Did you know that if NO ONE bought a drop of gas
in the US for just one week, the price would
come crashing down!

Problem is, NO ONE will stick together and DO IT!

The crack heads sure won't. They don't even know
what day it is let alone read or listen to the
news. Rich slobs could care less either.

So it's up to us NORMAL working people and we
can't get our act together either!

So pay the highest prices for a gallon of fuel
and shut up about it OR do something about it!

I've figured out that a litre (canadian) is equal to .26 gallons. Gas hit 95 cents a litre so far this year. Do the math and we're paying almost $3.80 a US gallon. I get the added benefit of having to run minimum 92 octane (kenne bell SC'd) which is 12 cents more a litre. j OUr gas will fluctuate as much as 10 cents throughout the week.

I don't think everybody would ever quit buying gas at the same time, But if we would all get together and boycott just ONE company for a week that would work. I don't care which one just pick one

That only partially works...cuz first off, how many companies is Chevron the parent company of, or are they owned by. You have to boycott all of them or it doesnt do a lot of good.

Plus, not all stations always get their gas from theyre owner..sometimes depending on availability, price, and logistics..the gas at Brand A station could actually be the exact same gas thats sold at Brand B station down the street and come from the same Brand B refinery/terminal.

But if everyone would just boycott gas in general, or buy from a truly small-town mom&pop station perhaps, it would have an effect.

The way to lower gas prices would be if everyone reduced thier driving. Boycotting a station wouldnt do much. Gas pretty much is a uniform product, if everyone boycotted chevron the other stations would sell more gas and raise thier prices. If everyone reduced their meaningless driving and walked when they travel short distances it would make a change, but since everyone would probably cheat on it and just hope everyone else didnt drive it could never work. If you hate the gas prices ride a bike or deal with it, because with the begining of travel season here they are not going down any time soon.

What about out of control politicians that just want to raise taxes to screw the public on top of already high gas prices. At least in Wisconsin there is talk of tax relief due to high gas prices. Let say you fall down and sprain an ankle and someone comes along as says "Oh your not hurting enough" so they kick you in the butt to add misery to the condition your in. This really makes a lot of sense.

Mine is silver and I picked it up Thursday night. I should get over 80 miles to the gallon that hog.
