 Subject: AIR/FUEL Gauge HELP!!

I just bought a Air/Fuel Ratio Gauge. What color wire is the singnal wire from the first o2 sensor? Pictures would help there is four wires coming from the o2 sensor im not sure which one it is. I tryed hooking them up to both the black and gray one. I was told orange with a tan strip i cant figure it out. And with the red wire connected to a 5amp fuse and a ground should the guage come on or it wont come on until its hooked up with the o2?
