I'm looking for repair manuals either in print or online. Not just for my dakota but my wife's grand am.

I have the haynes manual for my dakota, do not have it for my wife's grand am as it's not avaialble yet the last I checked. I didn't like the chiltons as it didn't look as complete as the haynes.

I know some of you use alldata which is part of autozone. I also came across eautorepair.com which is by mitchell and is listed on napa's website. Can anyone comment on these two sites?

I'm looking for the obsecure and those items that don't usually need repair or are a big pain the @$$ as well as more common items. Such things as electrical diagrams with voltage specs. I'm also looking for things like A/C repair -replacing heater / evaporator core and replacing / repairing gears, axles.

It's easy enough to do these things on my dakota but i'm not too keen on my wife's grand am. Things are packed in well in that little I-4 it has. I'm looking how to change the drive belt and it looks 20x as difficult as my dak.

Helm Publications make the shop manuals for GM products. These manuals make the haynes look like your kids coloring book. I have bought two haynes manuals in the last year, they are horrible. Tried to find a new shop manual for my 89 Dakota with no luck. Even went to the local library, nothing for Dodge. I got lucky and found a 90 Dakota factory shop manual on ebay in great shape. What a difference!

Haynes everything important it seems is beyond the scope of the home mechanic so they just leave it out. I'm going to start a fire in the wood stove with that piece of junk.

LOL,
I was going to say something on those lines but it seems like a lot of people on here recommend it. Lots of info on how to rebuild an engine, but how many home mechanics will be doing that?
