I changed my spark plugs last sunday with autolites. I noticed that after a week driving to and from work my gas needle has barely moved off the full mark. I drive 5 days a week to and from work about a 4 mile a day driving. now you may say not that much to drive. but before I changed my plugs I would use between a quater to a half tank a week. I must say I am very happy now. should be able to make a tank of gas last for over 2 weeks now. I might try NGKs in it next plug change. would of tried NGK this time but they was out of stock for them.

so are NGK better or about the same as autolites?

I know on the champoin plugs in the truck I took out. the probes was really worn on all of them. but the porcelin surounding them had a tan look on them but was still white. I can say I will use autolites in my truck for now on. truck runs alot smoother and has better acceleration than it did when I got the truck a year ago.

Just a little feed back on my own situation. About a month ago, I bought a 1994 Dakota, mint condition. I got 19 MPG coming the 180 miles from Missouri, to home. I went ahead and pulled the plugs which were Champions (original set I think) and replaced them with Bosch Platinum 4202, which were recommended by the local Auto Zone. I drove those plugs for the past three weeks and noted a significant decrease in my mileage. Today, I went and bought a new set of Champion Truck Plugs 4071. I am in hopes to get the mileage back up to where it was before I changed. I am only listing this as my personnel experience, and have nothing good or bad to say about a particular plug. I would be interested in knowing if others have had a similar result with the use of the Bosch plugs. I also installed a new cap and rotor at the time of the Bosch plug install. I have read several debates on the site concerning different plug types, but I will just have to wait and see how the Champions work for me. I am glad you are getting good results with the Autolights! I know Amsoil recommends Bosch on their site but I sure didn't have luck with them. Comments anyone?

Which autolights are you using? Most people here use the ap3923s (1 range cooler) with upgraded cap/rotor, wires and 180 tstat. I've used both the ap3923s and ap3924s (stock) and not noticed any difference in mpg or performance with either. I've used champion and autolites in my dakota.

I used bosch in the wife's old v6 mustang and didn't have any problems. That was highly frowned upon by the ford dealerships. Wife took the car in for unrelated service, based on the milage they recommended a tuneup and to not use the bosch plugs. I asked why and the service manager said they don't work well in ford engines. He again recommended a tuneup with ford plugs. Keep in mind, this was over the phone. I declined the tuneup ($200). Wife went and picked up the car, the service manager told her it needed a tuneup and plugs need replaced, bosch don't do well. She called me asking about it, I told her to forget it, he was full on it. After she left, I called service manager and asked why he was trying to sell my wife something i already declined, he again said bosch plugs don't work well in ford engines. I asked him to get me a tech on the phone to explain it, he said they were all busy. I said, thank you that is all the answer I needed and hung up on him. Never used that dealer again.

A lot of threads have been written on this subject, so I will be brief.
Champion plugs are made for Mopar.
Champion platinums can increase mpg by 1
New plugs will increase mpg usually anyway if the old ones are worn out.
