hey guys,
i have a question regarding one of my customers vehicles 98 durango 5.2, i also have the same thing so i am curious too, any way hey wants to do some fuel improving mods (suprise, suprise), so if he was just looking for mileage would an intake , exhaust, chip/programmer, and plugs and wires make that big a difference, is the initial investment worth the return???

thanx guys

I can't comment on all the mods you listed but I got a 7% increase in gas mileage just by installing a K&N air filter (~$36.00). In general, anything you can do to let the engine breathe better (cold air intake and less restrictive exhaust), the better the gas mileage (and power too!)

my 2000 5.2 durango was getting 13 city and 18 highway.

just after putting synthetic oil in the motor, it got 14 city and 20 highway.

now it's got a better air filter and better exhaust but i am not sure of the fuel increases/decreases because of the 32" tires i just put on it... lol

i imagine changing all the fluids (engine/tranny/rear) with synthetic would provide even better mileage. I am gonna go as far as modding my throttle body, manifold, hotter ignition and possibly headers.

i know those helped my V6 dakota a lot..
