 Subject: Transmission Swap

My transmission is about to go in my 1992 dodge dakota. It's a 5.2L V8 (auto.) I'm not sure what transmission is in there right now but will a 46re bolt on? What would i have to get or do for it to work?

Sure it'll bolt right up, and will go nowhere. The RE is fully
electronic. Other than the gearshift selector, there is no
mechanical linkage to the tranny.
Your '92 does not have a computer capable of controlling
the tranny. Only the OBDII units do this. Stick with the
trannys ending in RH, not RE.
