I have a 93 Dakota sport. About two months ago my speed control for my fan wasn't working. I brought it in to a guy I know and he fixed it for me. I know that he had to do a lot of rewiring, but as far as I know all of the wiring he did was only for the fan, etc. But when I got my truck back from him, the radio (the whole unit: clock, radio, tape deck) doesn't work, and the dome light doesn't, either.

I don't really know how to go about fixing this. The first thing I did was take out the radio and make sure everything was plugged in. All the plugs were in. So then I tried tracing the wires back, and as far as I can see I don't see anything that isn't plugged in. All of the fuses seem to be in good shape, and when switched with ones that do work nothing happens. Looking for any type of suggestions you can give. Thanks.

This happened to me when replacing the heater core. Got some wires pinched putting everything back together and my clock and dome light did not work.

Where about do you think I should look? As far as I could follow the wires seemed fine, but if you've had something similar happen maybe there is a specific spot I should look.

The normal cause for the blower motor to quit working is normally caused by the resistor in the motor compartment on the pasanger side firewall in the 90 to 96 daks 2 screws and a plug. The lights in the radio are controled by the orange wire and on the factory stereos. you might want to take a 12 volt tester and test the orange wire to make sure it is getting power also if the dash light dimmer is turned down it will also cause your radio light to go out but will also cause all your dash lights to be dim. there is also a 5 amp fuse in the fuse box that will also cause the problem. Hope this helps.
