Guys, I hate to admit it, but I think my 2000 Dakota Sport has an omen. Don't worry I'm not going to go religous on you!! Let me sum it up for you and you can decide for yourselves. I bought the truck new in Dec, 1999. Since, I had a guy come across the interstate median and hit me head on - not totaled! It took me six months to get it back. The other guy drove his home from the wreck! Next, a Ford mini van turned in front of me at a redlight and I broadsided him. $10000 worth of damage, but fixed again. Since the first wreck my check engine, ABS, and brake light has been on. I've put a new set of tires on it, had the rotors turned, and just put a new set of rotors on today. Oh yeah, two weeks ago the tranny decided it didn't want to turn the tires anymore. Cracked all the way around the main box, leaked all the fluid out, and burned the bearings. O.K. Still not decided. Let me tell you that I only have 38,348 miles on it. Oh, and it's black and was built on a Friday 13th in 1999!!! So what do you say, should I have it blessed by the pope or get rid of it?! Remember the movie about the car that was killing everybody? Let me remind you that my name is Carey!!!!! Tell me what you think.

Sounds to me that the tranny was damaged in one of thje accidents. Check with you insurance. They should know that sometime some damage doesn't show up until later.

Since the case is cracked I would say youy have a shot at getting it fixed as part of the claim. Then I would trade it in on another one. Too many repairs in my book.

Sorry about the hassles, Know what its like, I've been there with other vehicles myself. Took a 4 grand loss on a 99 Stratus ES because people just couldn't see the Forest Green. So I bought a Flame Red Dakota. Now lets see them say they didn't see it.

That movie was Christine, man that was a good movie. I wish everyone had Chargers and Camaro's when I was in High School! Your truck will haunt you if you sell it just like Christine, thats if it doesn't kill you first! SELL IT!!!!!

Thanks for the correction. I caught it as soon as i posted it. I'm in it now on a company trip away from home and it hasn't let me down yet. By the way the tranny was replaced under warranty.

I have heard a slight change in the exhaust note-I think it's growling at me now!!!
