My check engine light came on last night. Could someone tell me how to pull the codes? 1999 Dakota 5.2 liter automatic.

The easiest way is to go to Autozone and let them hook up. They do it for free.

Cycle the key about 3 times , the check engine light should flash the number of times to equal the number of the code listed in the book

The check engine light does not flash. The code will show in the digital odometer on your dash.
If you do a search of this site, you will find a website that has the trouble codes posted.
