Simpe question: What size (AMP) alt comes stock on a dakota, I heard there are 2 sizes they put on, the stronger one comes w/ the towing package i beielve. But I was wondering what amp alternaters are available factory on a 99 dakota

My 99 CC 4x4 has the towing package > If I remember right it is 145 amps > Don't know what the normall one is > I expect about 95 or close

since the standard on a "97 is 117 I doubt very much if a "99 is only 95, since they usually go up, not down, in amps over time. the number you have for the heavy duty which is not, by the way, tied to a towing package, but to a "heavy duty electrical group" or "heavy duty service group" is 136 amps, it is possible that the 136 was upgraded to 145

My '01 QC has the Heavy Duty Servic Group and has the 136 amp alternator.

Scott- I'm not positive about everything that was included in the 'Heavy Duty Service Group', but I believe it was the H.O. alternator, Tranny cooler, and power steering cooler. Does anyone know what else was included? Was the LSD rearend included in that package?
