Hi guys/gals, I have used this site off and on over the last few years to work out problems on my dakota and have found it very helpfull. This is not Dakota problem, but your input would be very helpfull. It seems my dads 97 f150 4.2 v6 has craked a head leaked coolant, over heated and locked up. I am going to putting a remanufactured long block in it (surefire), and could use somee helpfull tips for doing this also any other ideas for motor choices? 2,000 @ auto zone after core exchange? Thank you very for anyone who helps!! ( he should have bought a dak.)

homer, you are prolly better off sticking with another v6. have you thought about a used engine. try www.car-part.com or these guys: http://www.wla-engine.com/. i personally cannot vouch for either one but, i am just trying to give you some options.
