I am getting a noise from the front of my 99 Dakota R/T CC. It sounds like the calipers are sticking. I put new calipers rotors and pads on this thing and it was quite for a week, now it is making the noise/vibration again. It goes away when I apply the brakes. Anybody have any ideas on how to stop this or what is causing it? I am getting real close to trading it in. It has 60,000 on it. Thanks for any help....John.

It sounds like the pads are dragging on the rotors and it vibrates through the pedal if you just rest your foot on it. It used to sqeak real bad so I replaced the pads and put slotted rotors on. That stopped the sqweaking, but soon after, it made a kind of grinding noise/feel.So then I replaced the calipers. It was fine after that for a week, now it makes the grinding noise/feel again. As soon as I apply a little pressure to the pedal the noise and vibration go away. Wheel bearings maybe?

Did you
lube the slide pins and contact areas?
properly bleed brakes?
tighten all the bolts?

I had the same problem on my '99. The anti-rattle clips on the outboard pad MUST be installed with tension, meaning the end of the clip at the bottom must be on the inside of the caliper bracket. Look at it and you'll see what I mean.
