Here's the government's take: "The purpose of this standard is to reduce traffic accidents and deaths and injuries resulting from traffic accidents, by providing adequate illumination of the roadway, and by enhancing the conspicuity of motor vehicles on the public roads so that their presence is perceived and their signals understood [my emphasis], both in daylight and in darkness or other conditions of reduced visibility." -- 49CFR571.108 ("FMVSS 108")

This standard references SAE J578 and J588, standards which set turn signal color as yellow. Why would we have these standards if any color will do?

Looking back I realize i mis read when Ace said "lue bulbs look awsome, im not so sure wuts up with the fast blinky thing, but how does a blinker being blue make it work improperly, im still letting people kno i am turning correct?".

Trying to read that one late night I mis read "turning" for "tuning".

But anyway. Blue lights do NOT belong in your flashers, period!

You should realize people get so relaxed with their driving that we only pay half attention to the road. People swapping in bulbs that are not normally used can cause a longer delay in someone's "subcouncious" to react. I say "subconcious" because half of the time we drive from point a to point b day in and day out. The normal things in driving, like RED brake lights, and RED or AMBER turn signals still register in our brains even when we are not paying proper attention.

Throw in some ricer with stupid mods like "BLUE" turn signals, "FAST" turn signals, or "FAST and BLUE" turn signals not too mention the morons who like to paint over their factory brake lights down to a few circles the size of silver dollars.... well. IDIOTS!
Those are things NOT to f**k with!

It's still not "natural" for some one to use a BLUE blinker.

Besides, it DEFINITELY is illegal as well as plain dumb.
