As a follow up to “Dodge Sells” rather informative post in which he shows off his command of the English langauge…Yes Ford did shut down the Oakville plant in Canada. Most probably they did this so they could use the cheaper labor in Mexico and move it’s operations there. They are making some F-150s now in Cuautitlan Mexico, along with other heavier Ford trucks. The majority of which are being exported back into the US. See this link for proof: http://www.autoindex.org/maker.plt?no=2080

“Dodge Sells” also said “the only trucks made in the Oshawa GM plant is the GMC Sierra” That is not correct, at least according to GM. They also make the Chevrolet Silverado and Chevrolet Silverado SS amongst others there. See this link for proof:
http://www.gm.com/company/corp_info/global_operations/north_america/cana_osh_truck.html

At GM’s Mexican Silao plant they make the following - Chevrolet Suburban, GMC Yukon XL, Cadillac Escalade EXT, Chevrolet Avalanche, Cadillac Escalade ESV. See this link for proof:
http://www.gm.com/company/corp_info/global_operations/north_america/mexi_silao.html

And at GM’s Toluca plant in Mexico the produce medium-duty trucks: Chevrolet, GMC C-series:
http://www.gm.com/company/corp_info/global_operations/north_america/mexi_toluca.html

And in fairness like I stated, some Dodge Rams are now built in Mexico also.

So getting back to the original point of my post, it’s clear that not ALL Ford and Chevy trucks are made in the USA, some are some aren’t. To say that Ford and Chevy trucks are all US made is a myth, at least nowadays anyway. The only way to tell for sure is too check the VIN or window sticker.

Lastly, here a great link that clearly shows where most vehicles sold in the US are made and which are union made: http://www.howtobuyamerican.com/content/db/b-db-autos.shtml

That last link clearly shows DaimlerChrysler as "German" ownership and only Ford and GM as American.

Guess Dodge Sells was right. Thanks for proving his point.
