I ordered snow tires and rims from tirerack, for my 99 RT dakota.Almost lost a rear wheel, turns out the rims are much thinner than that rt rims, and the lug bolts run out of threads the closer they get to the hub.So with the thinner rims that I ordered with the snow tires, the lug nuts only have a couple of threads before they just bottom out,and wont allow proper torque to be applied.Any body else run into this problem, and if so,what is the best solution?I'm looking into wheel spacers right now,but not thrilled with that option.~~todd

Did they recomend those rims?
Looks like the only option is to add a spacer if you keep the wheels.

You don't need more than 1-2 threads to get full clamping force. You either have space between the lug nut and the face, or you don't. If you have space there, you have full clamping force.

You need to check and make sure that you have full clamping force, and full contact between the conical lug nut and the matching rim face. Place a little bit of machinists dye, prussion blue, or light paint on the lug nut cone and the very end of the lug nut that might contact the hub face. Now tighten to specs, and remove. By looking at the paint/dye pattern, you can see how much contact you have and where.

If the wheel centers are thinner than stock, you may have enough space to trim a little bit of material off the end of the lug nut. Just don't trim trim into the conical contact area, or you will lose strength.
