...and I just noticed. The tachometer increments are goofy! There are seven marks between every thousand. This translates into every mark on your tach gives you 143 rpm. What is wrong with this picture? Correct me if I am wrong, but the middle tach mark between 2 and the 3 means you are doing 2571.44 rpms. Couldn't we have something simpler here.

i know those markings are crazy. i wonder how accurate it is anyway? anybody check theirs?

Thats some wild math there.
Buf if you look at it again, you will see 8 spaces. Each one representing 125 rpm's
So therefor your 7 marks go
1-125
2-250
3-375
4-500 (middle)
5-625
6-750
7-875
The 8th mark is the next major mark, in your case, 3k.
I do agree that it is a little weird.
I would guess, by 100 rpm made too small of a mark
and 250 made the tach look bare.

My 01 4.7 only has a line between the whole numbers, like the .5 mark!
What 8 lines on the tach?

1. They sold me a "truck."
2. Lee Iacoca quit.
3. They've gone back to the quality of the mid/late 70's.
4. It's owned by a bunch of Nazi's who have joined the EU and maximize profits through 3rd world country labor.
5. Most of the parts are from the 3rd world countries with 3rd world quality
6. High failures in the following areas:
a. Brake drums
b. Brake discs
c. Ball joints
d. Fuel pumps
e. Wheel bearnigs
f. Power steering pumps
g. Manual transmissions
7. They didn't even bolt down the left engine mount to the block in my truck at the factory.

Dave's right,
I had my nv3500 replaced, under warranty, for a bad third gear synchchro. As far as the rest? Still on my original brakes, bj's, etc.
Oh my first set of tires, the stock one's, 16's, did only last 58,000miles before I had them replaced, which still passed the state inspection laws down here, before replacement.
