Could someone tell me how much fluid the tranny holds. I wanna change to amsoil fluid and need to know how much to buy. 04 CC SLT 4.7L 5 speed auto w/OD

Well, if you're gonna do it right, which involves dropping the pan and flushing all the old fluid out, you will need a good 10 quarts (I think). I recently had my transmission totally removed from the truck and had just about every last ounce of fluid drained from it. Took just over 11 quarts to refill.
If you are going to change to synthetic I would advise to do a search on the site for how to flush the transmission to ensure that you get as much of the old fluid out as possible.

Thanx for the info. For some reason the search feature on this site is not working for me. I will prolly take it to a local tranny shop and have tem do it, as I live in an apartmant and they frown upon working on vehicles.
