could someone give me a little insight to what would be causing a clicking noise in hard breaking situations when you need to stop suddenly and sometimes during normal breaking and it doesn't have the 4 wheel abs option. any insight would be appreciated. thanks

Sounds like your rear ABS to me. My 2001 QC does it all the time. Very annoying!

I experience this as well in my 03 QC 4x4. I asked the dodge service rep about it and he said "yeah, sounds like the rear ABS module, as they get older they do that."

This really annoys me. I'd hardly call a 2003 model year truck with 20k miles on it "older". My noise sounds like it's coming from behind the dash to the left of the steering wheel, near the fuse panel. Same noise I'm assuming? Anyone got any fixes?

I also have an '03 QC 4x4 which makes the same clicking noise when I have to break real hard. It sounds like it's coming from the dash. So this is the ABS module? Should I take it in?

If you check out your owners manual it states that "clicking" noise while braking hard with abs is normal. Maybe there is no problem?

I have the same thing going on on my 04 QC 4x4.I don't think it has anything to do with anti lock brakes because when the anti locks DO kick in there is a different sound all together AND you can feel it in the brake pedal. Also, at very low speeds where the tires wouldn't even try to lock up but the front end dips makes me think this clicking sounds more like something in the front suspension.Ball joints maybe?? Mine is a 2004 so I thought the ball joint problem didn't apply. Am I wrong? I think I actually posted something on this a while back
