 Subject: Code 32, EGR Help!

94 318 slt 4x4 ext cab, I am getting code 32 from the PCM,
My main question is, the Check engine light only comes on after I begin to drive, never when parked, I can run it, rev it idle all day and the light never comes on... but within a quarter to half mile after starting to drive, it comes on every time.
I read in other posts abou the EGR system that it is designed to kick in on deceleration, is this true? if so, My guess is that's why it never shows up till after I start driving. Any other information would be greatly appreceiated.
I'm going to try and remove the egr an clean it this weekend, but i don't want to have to buy one if that's not my real problem.
