I recently had my brakes lock up while driving, resulting in me rear-ending an intrigue. My front end is bashed in but the radiator isn't damaged :)

What is damaged is the clock spring. When I turn the wheel i hear a click after every 15 degrees or so. Does anyone know what the damage is? I have removed my steering wheel and attempted to recenter the clock spring, but after turning and turning for about 15-20 minutes, it still hasnt 'reached the end of its travel' yet- is this normal? Also, I think the whole assembly is loose. It wiggles around a little and i cant seem to get the ignition casing off to check if its mounted correctly.

Um. As distasteful as it may be, it's probably best to let a service department take a look at it. Clockspring carries steering wheel airbag firing squib signals.

And one more thing:
"I recently had my brakes lock up while driving, resulting in me rear-ending an intrigue."

That's the most creative way of saying "tailgating" I have ever read. Well done.
