Message:
Is the brake pedal the same height as the clutch pedal
in your truck? The brake pedal in my Quad is about
half way between the clutch pedal and gas pedal.

I had to hit the brakes HARD last night to avoid hitting a
mini van (got to love snow) and now it seems like my
brake pedal is closer to the floor than before.

I'm sure it's just my imagination...

Thanks in advance,
Lemmers

I have the same feeling as you Lemmers. I had to stomp on it one night to avoid a deer and now I'm paranoid as heck.

So far, my brakes havent been any different power-wise since this happened. If anything, it may just be the brake power booster taking a little while longer to charge the system due to the cold weather. Rubber inside medal hates the cold.

I had to stomp on it for a deer last week, but alas I didn't stop fast enough. dented the hood, fender, smashed the grill, smashed the headlight, smashed the marker light(clears I insatlled less then 6months ago) bent in my bumper, and poped both my fog lamp bulbs. = 2000$ dammage + the cost of the butcher, should be getting it back soon. All this and it was only a young buck 50-75pounds.

You made the right move. To often people swerve and end up dead in a ditch. $2000 is cheaper than a funeral. Hope it's in your freezer.

Thanks for the replies,

Could you 5speed owners take a look at your pedal
heights? Is the brake lower than the clutch pedal (at
resting position)? If so, how much? I swear my brake
pedal is lower than it used to be...

thanks,
lemmers

OK Lemmers, you asked a legit question.
So I went into my garage and looked.
The truck's been sitting all night, still off.
You're right, the pedals are at different heights!

I even pulled up on my brake pedal, it seems to be at the stop. I think that's the way thery are made.

I still have original brakes, rotors, and ball joints.

Here's a pic of my 2000 Dak 4.7 5spd pedals. On the 3.9 the pedals if I'm not mistaken are the same height.
